Description
Hugh Glass 1822-ben nyugat felé veszi az irányt, hogy Andrew Henry kapitány szolgálatában szőrmét gyűjtsön. A férfit egy napon megtámadja egy medve, és bár Hugh csodával határos módon túléli az esetet, nagyon súlyos sérüléseket szenved. A terepviszonyok lehetetlenné teszik, hogy elszállítsák, két mecénás pedig sorsára hagyja őt a vadonban. A védtelen férfi azonban mégis felépül, melyet követően bosszút esküszik, és elindul, hogy megtorolja sérelmeit azokon, akik megtagadták tőle a segítséget.
